Movement-Dance Workshops
These workshops are designed to explore new possibilities of expressive movements combined with technique exercises based on Laban’s Analysis. The aim is to improve rhythmic ability, posture, coordination and agility and to open the doors to a wider imagination enhancing your free-flow dancing. Inspired by imagery and music, we will playfully bring awareness to body dynamics with an emphasis on fluidity and to maintain a strong centre, how to use gravity and the floor. The more we are grounded, the more we can fly - the dance becomes effortless, pure energy. I like to bring awareness to our emotions and become more sensitive to how internal impulses are merging with the music, and how to use the space. There will be optional partner- and small group exercises, which are great fun and very creative.
Movement and dance can be a form of meditation in which the dancer becomes the dance. However, practiced regularly, it is a liberating experience.
I love to share the joy of letting go into the realm of sound and movement to experience graceful freedom.
For anyone who believes they can’t dance, give it a try, you might be surprised! There is no age limit.
One-to-one
Choose either a therapeutic exercise or expressive dance session, or a combination. I am passionate about movement and the joy it creates, and will encourage you to meet your goals whatever they are.
I will take you through various exercises and explain in detail how you can improve posture, alignment and mobility by unlearning bad habits and increasing your body awareness. I like precision as much as the use of imagery for achieving optimal results.
Expressive dancing is fun, liberating and can be a deep experience and makes you feel better on all levels. I will encourage you to find your dance. Apart from getting fitter and feeling great, practicing dance will improve your coordination, rhythmic ability and all other physical objectives.
"To watch us dance is to hear our hearts speak." -Hopi Indian Saying
"While I dance I can not judge, I can not hate, I can not separate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance." -Hans Bos
